This policy explains how Jobroots Consultancy And Recruiter ("Jobroots", "we", "us") collects and uses personal data through this website and when you contact us. We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it.

1. Who we are

Jobroots Consultancy And Recruiter is a recruitment consultancy in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. We decide how and why your personal data is used, so under the law we are the "data fiduciary".

2. What we collect

If you apply for a job or send your CV: your name, mobile and WhatsApp number, email address (optional), your pincode or area (we use it to work out which part of Mumbai you live in), and if you live outside Mumbai, your city and whether you would move. Also your education, work experience, spoken English level, the type of job and shifts you want, when you can join, the best time to call you, languages, the job you are applying for, how you heard about us, your CV and anything it contains.

If you use the free CV maker: before you start, you agree that Jobroots receives your CV. While you fill it in, what you type is saved only on your own device, so you can continue later. When you download or share your finished CV, a copy of it and your details is sent to Jobroots, just like a job application. Unfinished CVs are never sent. You can delete what is saved on your device any time with "Clear my details", and ask us to delete your data as described below. If you choose "Continue on another phone or computer", your unfinished CV (without the photo) is stored with Jobroots for 7 days under a private link, and then deleted automatically.

If you join the typing test leaderboard: only the nickname you choose, your score and the date, plus a random code made by your browser so your best score counts once a week. Please don't use your real name or phone number as a nickname. The typing test itself and the salary calculator run only on your device and send nothing. To remove a leaderboard entry, contact us.

If you send a hiring requirement: your name, company, phone number, work email and the details of the roles you want to fill, and how you heard about us.

If you contact us by WhatsApp, phone or email: your number or address and what you tell us.

When you visit the website: the hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) to run and protect the site. The website does not use advertising cookies. If we add visitor statistics in future, we will update this policy first.

3. Why we use it

To contact you about jobs that match your profile. Our system suggests which candidates may suit an opening, based only on job-related details such as location, education, experience, English level and shifts; a Jobroots recruiter always makes the decision.
To share your CV and details with employers who are hiring for a matching role.
To arrange interviews and stay in touch until your joining day.
To respond to hiring requirements from employers.
To keep the website secure and working.

We use your data only for these purposes and only with your consent, which you give when you tick the consent box on our forms or contact us yourself.

4. Who we share it with

Employers: we share a candidate's CV and details only with employers recruiting for a role that matches that candidate.
Service providers who help us run our work: Google (Google Sheets, Drive and Gmail store form entries and CVs), our website hosting provider, and WhatsApp when you message us. They may store data on servers outside India.
Authorities: only when the law requires it.

We never sell your personal data or share it for advertising.

5. How long we keep it

We keep CVs and application details for 12 months after you apply, so that we can also contact you about future jobs that match your profile. After 12 months we delete them automatically, unless you are in an active hiring process with us. If you apply again, the 12 months start again. Records of candidates who joined an employer through us are kept as long as we need them for that placement and the law requires. You can ask us to delete your data earlier at any time. Employer enquiries are kept for as long as we work together, and longer only where the law requires us to keep records.

6. How we protect it

Form entries and CVs are stored in a private Google account that only the Jobroots team can open. Access is limited to the people who need it for recruitment, and the website uses a secure (https) connection.

7. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
correct or update your details;
delete your data;
stop using your data by withdrawing your consent (this does not affect what we did before you withdrew it);
let a person you nominate act for you if you are unable to.

Send your request to careers@jobroots.co.in or WhatsApp +91 79770 21911. We reply within 7 working days and resolve requests within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

8. Age

Our services are for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page with a new date.
